Engagement Shoot at Rodeo Beach – Courtney and David

This shoot has been on the calendar since Feb. -we were rained out three times! Well, I’m so glad that we waited for a nice afternoon because it was just gorgeous. We did the shoot at Rodeo Beach -right near the Marin Center for the Arts. I love these old buildings, the rolling hills, wildflowers. Courtney and David were wonderful to photograph -they both said how nervous they were (hint for couples: everyone is) and within minutes were joking with each other, being sweet and lovely. Thank you both! I’m really looking forward to your wedding in a couple weeks. They are getting married at the Golden Gate Club in the Presidio…

Oakland Engagement Session

I had the best time with these two. Celeste and Jon had access to the old American Steel building in West Oakland. Celeste and Jon and getting married at Chileno Valley Ranch in June. It will be rolling hills, old barns, blooming flowers, etc. so this was a coll contrast to that setting.

I used to live a few blocks away and have always been dying to check it out. It’s currently used a an artist space -lots of burning man stuff hanging around, people listening to music, drinking beers, spray painting things, etc. I loved it.

There were so many different looks to this shoot so this post is pretty image heavy! Have fun!

Simron and Jesse – San Francisco Engagment Session

It was an absolutely gorgeous winter day in San Francisco, great light, great outfits. The whole works. We started out at Sutro Heights Park, and then crossed the street to the old Cliff House. If you have a minute, it’s work checking out the opening page of their site -a great visual history of the Cliff House and the many forms it’s taken over the years!

Anyhoo… it was wonderful to spend time with these two. Simron is as adorable as she is beautiful (and smart -she’s in law school). Jesse is funny, nice and also a visual artist -a videographer. Thank you for the great field trip, you too! (I’d never been out there and loved exploring the area.)

Guest Sign-in Album

I’m working on a new studio sample -thought I’d share some spreads! This is for an 8×10 guest sign-in album. I love these albums -by the end of the wedding night, they’ve become a beautiful combination of special photos and well wishes from your closest friends and family. Nice stuff.

In case you are curious, this is Barrie and Ariel. We did their engagement photos at their home in Oakland. They got married a few weeks later at Chileno Valley Ranch -which is outside of Petaluma.

They got married in high style (while in Palm Springs, that would be over the top mid-century modern) at the Riviera in Palm Spring, CA. We took a few photos of them in the hotel before the ceremony. Elodie & Henrik Get Married – Mount Tamalpais Wedding

Henrik and Elodie were married last month on top of Mount Tam, in Marin. Their ceremony was first going to take place at a trail head where the two often go for hikes (or impressive runs -they are both triatheletes.) It was too windy to go there, so we opted for the Mount Tam Amphitheater. An amazing second choice, if you ask me! It was built in the 1930s and seats 3,750 people. They still have plays performed there in the spring. It was a beautiful place to get married, such a quiet enclave from the wind and fog right around the corner. When Elodie walked out to “Here Comes the Sun”, played by David Duenas on acoustic guitar, the sun did come out and I got chills. It was just so lovely.

After a few pictures, we headed back to Mountain Home Inn in Mill Valley. It was the perfect, cozy place to spend the evening. The Inn felt like we were in a home -fires, nice warm lighting, great food.

Fog at Chrissy Field ~ San Francisco Engagement Photos

From an engagement shoot last week… We went to Chrissy Field in San Francisco, hoping for a shot with the Golden Gate in the background. It was fogged out, and seeing the pictures I am so glad it was. Look at that green grass -this is straight out of camera. Love it.

Marshall & Nahyon -Meridian Vineyards Wedding

Marshall is my husband’s first cousin and I was honored to be asked to photograph his wedding with Nahyon, the lovely bride. Marshall is one of the country’s best birders -and Nahyon is terrified of birds. Love conquers all, doesn’t it! Nahyon does, however, adore dogs. They drove all the way across the country because they wanted to have their sweet dog Chula with them -who is actually quite sick and probably in her last months. I loved that they refused to leave Chula behind, and she was there for the whole wedding, relaxing in the California sun.

It was a great time -the groomsmen were hysterical- and up for anything. I stopped by the guy’s house when they were getting ready to grab a few documentary shots. They asked what should they be doing and I said “Nothing! I’m a fly on the wall -just act normal.” Within 8 minutes they had made a human pyramid, juggled crochet balls, wrestled each other to the ground, and wrapped Marshall in paper towels. No joke. Then later after the wedding, they wanted to do one of those “groomsmen jumping in the air” shots, so they got on chairs and jumped off -we heard a huge crack when one of the chairs broke. Really funny -it’s in the photos here. The bridesmaids were just shaking their heads, all gorgeous and stylish in their killer black dresses.

Anyhow, many congrats to Marshall and Nahyon!! It was such a great weekend down in Paso Robles, thank you for having me there to capture it. xo
