"She has a beautiful way of capturing human emotion. We were fortunate enough to have Mary take our family portraits once again and I am couldn't be happier with my photographs.
My kids are not patient and warm up slowly to strangers, Mary is so calm, grounded and welcoming that she had my kids playfully posing for her the minute she started. Thank you for the beautiful photograph memories I will cherish forever."

I believe there is incredible value seeing images of all of you together. It’s a daily reminder for everyone in the family of what is important in life. I personally love having a big family picture in the kitchen (we live our lives there). We also keep family albums on the coffee table in the living room -my kids are always looking through them and yes, it feels much more special than scrolling through the phone.
Your family photographs only increase in value as time marches on, kids get bigger and life changes. I know this from my own experience -our family photos are more important than any piece of clothing, electronic, etc.. So yes, you are doing a great thing by having your family photos taken! :)
I have been a professional photographer for 15 years and before that, I taught elementary school for 7 years -so I am very comfortable with kids. I'm also a mom myself and relate to all that goes into raising a family. :)
My family photography style is documentary, candid and warm. I'm always on the lookout for moments that show the special connections between your family.
Shoot me an email, telling me what type of session you are interested in and I'll send you all the details!
For the mini sessions, we choose one location -either your home or a nice outdoor space. We'll talk about what would work best for you.
For two hour sessions, we can go to two locations. I love starting at your home and then ending at a pretty outdoor space. I get to a place of trust much faster with the kids at your home than if I was a stranger that walked up to you at a park with a camera, plus the images immediately have context. I love seeing our older photos at the house we no longer live in =so do my kids. It really tells a story. A no! Your house DOES NOT need to be a dwell magazine spread. It's great as it is -really.
After hanging out at home, we can choose an activity you like to do together. For example: drive to a park nearby, walk around the neighborhood, grab an ice cream, etc..
You are all perfect as you are. Truly. You are here together on this planet, you love each other, and that is what these sessions are about.
These photos are for you to look back on in ten years and get a feeling of what life was like at this point with your family -it’s not for a magazine article. I love REAL LIFE in family photos. I love my son’s messy room from our own family photo shoot years ago. I love his crying face in some of the pictures. That room and those little boy tears are gone from our life now so these photos are so precious to me.
If you'd like to chat on the phone first, we can absolutely do that. I'd love to hear about your family!
We can also just email to set a date & time and then I’ll send you a portrait agreement online where you pay the session fee to hold your date.
