My friend Stephanie and her amazing family are moving out of their pad in the Mission this summer. It is most likely that they are moving to the East Coast -prospects of a great job and the deep comfort of being closer to family. All very good reasons, but to be honest it just breaks my heart to see them go. We did a little session in June to document the neighborhood where they moved into newly married and have since had two beautiful girls. They love the Mission -it was so clear the pride that Matt has in the area, he’s always so curious about the changes and just hoping that it continues to grow in a good direction. It was a really hot morning -ridiculously hot- and I know Steph and I were two emotional messes over the impending move. I finally looked at the photos today and thankfully there were some good ones in the mix. (Did I mention I started the session by crying on their couch? Nice move, McHenry. Way to set the mood…)
I love you all so much and wish you much happiness in your new endeavour. I’m really glad we got our @$^#%$ together to do this shoot! I hope it always serves as a happy reminder of where the family started it’s long and happy life. xoxo
Outside their building:
Matt was holding up the baby from behind, don’t worry… 🙂
The happy pair:
Ah, the murals of the Mission -love ’em:
Matt’s initials -so great!
Poor Eden was hot and starving, so we cut things short and headed for a diner…
Checking out her ‘hood:
Had to grab this…
