Apparently, the Grateful Dead still lives

Hello, my name is Mary and I am the wife of a Dead Head.

The band came to Shoreline (yes, minus Jerry Garcia)  and we went down to see them play with two friends of Drew’s from Texas: Jeb and Jace.  Little thing about Texans- they are super polite and warm.  I love these guys.

We all had a great time.  I did go to a few shows when I was younger, basically because Drew went and I loved the hippie scene and yes, the music really is great -especially if you are hearing it live.  Anyhow, it was a trip back into time -the first Grateful Dead show I went to with Drew was almost 20 years ago.  TWENTY.

It was also just wonderful to step out of my routine, be away from the kids for a long stretch of time and become immersed in a totally different scene from my usual life of preschool pick-ups and trips to Safeway.

Here is a shot of Drew selling some extra tickets that Jace had.  It is hysterical watching Drew in this roll because he is such a master at negotiating -can you feel the tension?

The weather was gorgeous, the music was great and I have now vowed to see more live music.  (And get a press pass -I couldn’t take any photos with my big camera inside the show.  Bummer.)
